I haven't been to Norway yet but someday I will move there. Here is a slide show dedicated to the most beautiful country on Earth. This video shows beautiful scenes of Bergen, Oslo, Stavanger, Lofoten, Finnmark (my favorite), traditional Norwegian hytte, Trondheim, Hammerfest, Sami (Lapps), Kristiansand and many more. I spent hours trying to get everything just right like the symbolism, so if you open up you'll find a lot of symbolism. One of them would be that the flag after the mountains shows that Norway is a strong country. P.S Sorry for the bad quality the file is too big.

Although there are many fjords across the globe, the ones that grace the #NorwegianCoastline reign as the most popular because of their astonishing beauty. Hundreds of cruise ships bring tourists to Norway every year to experience these marvelous inlets. However, the mountains and villages surrounding the Norwegian fjords also offer many incredible sights and adventures. Visit our Website at: http://www.earthporm.com/ Follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/EarthPornn Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/earthporndotus Google+: https://plus.google.com/+Earthporm 10 Reasons Norway is the Greatest Place on Earth 1. It's One of the Happiest Places on Earth Norway ranked second in a 2013 world happiness report conducted by the United Nations. They looked at various factors, like life expectancy, prosperity, health, and social support, all indicating that Norway is a great place to be. Residents have also been known to have high satisfaction with their standards of living and feel they can choose the direction of their lives. Clearly, Norwegians have got it good. 2. The Allemannstret Law Norway employs the law of Allemannstret which, essentially, is the freedom to roam wherever one chooses. It's a right of access law, which provides people with almost unlimited opportunities for using their outdoor surroundings. As long as the land is unfenced and far enough from a house, you can have a picnic, explore by foot or ski or anything else, sleep under the sky, have a campout, pick some flowers -- really anything you want. 4. Trolltunga is the Perfect Photo Op How would you like to step out onto this huge piece of rock? Trolltunga, translating to Troll's Tongue in English, hangs out horizontally from the rock face at about 700 meters high. It's pretty spectacular, but just remember to leave your fear of heights behind. 5. And so is Kjeragbolten Kjeragbolten Boulder is yet another spectacular spot in Norway that you can easily visit. Located in the Kjerag Mountains in Rogaland, a large glacial deposit is wedged between a mountain crevice over an abyss that's 984 meters deep. While stunning from afar, how would you like to stand atop it and gaze down at the drop below? Yikes! If you're gutsy enough you can (Allemannstret, remember?), just be sure not to slip... 6. Its Breathtaking Fjords Norway is famous for its beautiful fjords. These deep sea inlets are easily accessible and just waiting to be explored, surrounded by stunning views and other natural wonders. 7. The Midnight Sun For anyone who's ever resented twilight's darkness for putting a crimp on their fun day plans, you'll love Norway's midnight sun. Because Norway is situated above the Arctic Circle, during the summer, the country has 24-hours of daylight. Yep, the sun is out all day (and night) long. This leaves plenty of time for fun things to do, and you'll never have to worry about the night preventing you from participating in any great activities. Well, at least until winter rolls around that is. 8. It Has More Lakes than You Think Sure, Finland may be the country known for its many lakes, giving that it's nicknamed the land of 1000 lakes and all. However, with about half a million lakes within its borders, Norway beats out Finland for total number of these bodies of water (the latter of which has about 188000). Norway also has some of the deepest lakes in Europe. So, sorry Finland, but, when it comes to lakes, Norways got you beat. 9. You can see the northern lights Norway is home to the spectacular northern lights or aurora borealis. You can see the fantastic natural lightshow at certain times during the year, and gazing up above as the vibrant colors light up the surrounding skies is one of a kind. It's particularly great to view them from Lofoten islands. 10. Ferrying through Geirangerfjord When in Norway, you can take a fantastic ferry ride through Geirangerfjord, a UNESCO world heritage site. There's some beautiful scenery and dramatic views, all of which you can enjoy while relaxing on deck. 11.Its Explorable Geography Norway's geography includes 240000 islands and a coastline that stretches out for over 64000 miles. There's so much to explore you'll never get bored. So, what are you waiting for?

A tribute to the beauty and culture of Greenland, Denmark, The Faroe Islands, Sweden, Finland including Åland, and Norway... including Svalbard, Jan Mayen, and the traditional territories of the indigenous Sami people. (The flag I display for Svalbard and Jan Meyen is not at all official.. it was simply a proposed flag. These islands usually display the Norwegian flag, as they are part of Norway, but I wanted to create a distinction for the purpose of the organization of this video.) Also Watch: A Closer Look at Norway http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SN7WqL2ULqQ This Video is about a beautiful part of the world. I do not want the comment section to be filled with debates about what is Scandinavian, what is Nordic, whether the Finns were viking and so on. It makes me sad to see such arguments.

From odd fjords and statues, to the strangest Norwegian Ice Caves; These are 13 STRANGE and AMAZING Places in Norway ! Subscribe to American Eye http://goo.gl/GBphkv 13. Vigeland Art Installation 12. Atlantic Ocean Road --video blocks 11. Sverd i Fjell 10. Preikestolen Cliff 9. Kjeragbolten 8. Nigardsbreen Ice Cave 7. Polaria 6. Torghatten 5. Visnes Statue of Liberty Take a look at this photo of lady liberty standing tall with all her might. She’s well known as a symbol of freedom, and has welcomed foreign immigrants into the United States. But hold on a minute! What’s she doing in Norway!? Turns out, Lady Liberty isn’t 100 percent American or French and is actually 100 percent Norwegian copper. The small town of Visnes was once home to a large deposit of copper during the construction of the statue of Liberty and this town is quite certain that the copper came from them! We asked lady liberty--- if this was true and she had no comment. 4. Norwegian Prisons Norway is a country which is high on human rights, they’ve even banned walmart from their country due to questions about where they get their products. So it shouldn’t come as a huge surprise that Norwegian Prisons are some of the best in the world! Some might even have more accommodations than luxury hotels! Here in this photo taken at Skien prison, you notice a private bathroom and shower to the right and a decent flat screen to the left, and really looks more like a dorm room than a prison cell. There’s even been a case, where an american was caught smuggling drugs in Norway and they refused to send him back the US, since they considered our prisons to be inhumane! Other amenities include, playstations, private gyms, internet access, and kitchens. Norway still doesn’t have a lot of crime and with only 5 million residents, they just don’t have a ton of people to lock up! 3. Urnes Stave Church You might be thinking to yourself hey, what’s so strange and amazing about a church in Europe! We see those all the time! Well this isn’t just any old church in Europe, this is one of the first churchs actually built by the Vikings and unlike many churches in Europe you're accustomed to seeing like the Notre Dame, this one is made out of wood! It shows extremely detailed wooden carvings on the walls and throughout the doors. This is situated alongside a picturesque fjord and has been around since the 12 century AD. 2. Oscarsborg Fortress Norse historay isn’t just limited to vikings, they also played an interesting role in world war II as were about to see. This is situated on two small islands and it’s well known for shooting down a heavy german cruiser in April of 1940. The Norwegian Fjords prove to be excellent places for placing naval ships, however the fort had outdated weaponry and Norway became under Nazi occupation the next month. You can still see parts of the torpedos that were once stored here and 28 cm guns that pointed east. Don’t forget to explore the underground bunkers made of reinforced concrete and the old barracks that were built in 1893 1.Pyramiden The strangest place in Norway has to be the completely abandoned settlement of Pyramiden located on the Norwegian territory of Svalbard to the North! The soviet arctic ghost town was once prosperous due to large coal deposits in the area but now that the coal is gone since 1998, so are the people. However, Norway has been hoping to turn this into somewhat of a tourist attraction. Not being situated to far from the regional capital of Longyearbyen, it’s a quick hour ride by snowmobile or a few hours by dogsled. If you do decide to come here be sure to dress warm and try not to get too spooked out by all the abandoned things here!

The Antarctic Peter I Island and the sub-Antarctic Bouvet Island are dependent territories and thus not considered part of the Kingdom. Norway also lays claim to a section of Antarctica known as Queen Maud Land. Until 1814, the Kingdom included the Faroe Islands (since 1035), Greenland (1261), and Iceland (1262). It also included Shetland and Orkney until 1468. Norway has a total area of 385,252 square kilometres (148,747 sq mi) and a population of 5,109,059 people (2014). The country shares a long eastern border with Sweden (1,619 km or 1,006 mi long). Norway is bordered by Finland and Russia to the north-east, and the Skagerrak Strait to the south, with Denmark on the other side. Norway has an extensive coastline, facing the North Atlantic Ocean and the Barents Sea. King Harald V of the German House of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg is the current King of Norway. Erna Solberg became Prime Minister in 2013, replacing Jens Stoltenberg. A constitutional monarchy, Norway divides state power between the Parliament, the Cabinet, and the Supreme Court, as determined by the 1814 Constitution. The Kingdom is established as a merger of several petty kingdoms. By the traditional count from the year 872 the Kingdom has existed continuously for 1,144 years, and the list of Norwegian monarchs includes over sixty kings and earls. Norway has both administrative and political subdivisions on two levels: counties and municipalities. The Sámi people have a certain amount of self-determination and influence over traditional territories through the Sámi Parliament and the Finnmark Act. Norway maintains close ties with the European Union and the United States. Norway is a founding member of the United Nations, NATO, the Council of Europe, the Antarctic Treaty and the Nordic Council; a member of the European Economic Area, the WTO and the OECD; and is also a part of the Schengen Area. The country maintains a combination of market economy and a Nordic welfare model with universal health care and a comprehensive social security system. Norway has extensive reserves of petroleum, natural gas, minerals, lumber, seafood, fresh water, and hydropower. The petroleum industry accounts for around a quarter of the country's gross domestic product. The country has the fourth-highest per capita income in the world on the World Bank and IMF lists, as well as ninth-highest on a more comprehensive CIA list. On a per-capita basis, it is the world's largest producer of oil and natural gas outside the Middle East. From 2001 to 2006, and then again from 2009 to 2014, Norway had the highest Human Development Index ranking in the world. Norway has also topped the Legatum Prosperity Index for the last five years.

This is a travel guide to Norway showing the top 10 places you must see if you’re visiting. These tips are from the perspective of a photographer, but the places are perfectly fine to visit if you’re a regular traveller as well. I’ve been fortunate enough to travel around in Norway almost contently for the past few years as a time-lapse photographer. That has given me extensive knowledge of what Norway has to offer, also outside the most touristic places. This list includes some true hidden gems you might not have heard of before. Norway is a fantastic country, and this list could’ve been much, much longer. But these are my favorites, and I’m sure you’ll love them too. The full list: 1. Senja 1. Varangerhalvøya 1. Femundsmarka 4. Loenvatnet 5. Valdres 6. Hardanger 7. Helgeland 8. Lofoten 9. Nærøyfjorden 10. Jettegrytene i Nissedal For more pictures of my adventures, visit my Instagram @morten.rustad (https://www.instagram.com/morten.rustad/) All photos and videos in the video are taken by me. Some of them are produced in cooperation with Turbin Film (http://www.turbinfilm.no).

OK, I'll admit it, Norway is the most beautiful country in the world. At least of the 100 I've seen. My trip with TopDeck Travel continued north up through Norway today. And, again, I still don't have audio due to my vlogging fail the other day. But, luckily, when you're in a country as beautiful as Norway you can almost don't need sound. You can just sit and enjoy the beauty. By basically day 2 of this trip through Norway I thought it might be the most beautiful country in the world, or at least the most beautiful I've been to. However, I wanted to reserve judgement until I saw more of it. Now, having seen it from top to bottom, I can be sure it's the most beautiful country in the world. And, while I've only seen 100 countries, it would be really hard to beat the sheer beauty of this country. In fact, there are still so many incredible places in Norway that I haven't seen that seem like they'll be absolutely incredible, maybe even more impressive than any of the other places I've been here. So, on this vlog, we continued soaking in that amazing beauty of this country. We started by visiting a place called Svartisen Glacier which is a boat ride and a hike away. The trip is incredibly beautiful and there were loads of photos to be had along the way. After our excursion to Svartisen, we made our way even farther norther here in Norway. In fact, we crossed the arctic circle today. So, now I've been across both the arctic and antarctic circles which is pretty cool. Then, in the evening we got to our campsite, and my audio finally came back. So, to celebrate, we had a few drinks and enjoyed a bit of the midnight sun. Tomorrow, there will be another vlog from here in the most beautiful country in the world as we again push farther north here in Norway.

Whenever people asked me what is my favorite country in the world, I don’t make a second thought and answer them immediately “ it’s Norway”. Why? Even though it is very expensive and one domestic beer would already cost $10USD, I love Norway because it is SO SCENIC! It is so green and beautiful! (We were there for 3 months during summer). I just take a walk, hike or use a bicycle and a gorgeous falls or viewpoint is waiting for me- Very clean and safe country. These sites are for free which I truly enjoy since I am a budget traveller. I would bring water and snacks along with me and have a picnic outside while enjoying the nature. And that’s the reason why Norway is my favorite country in the world. Thank you for watching! Beautiful, 4 Norwegian Towns To Send You Back In Time. It is without a doubt the jarringly dramatic, natural beauty that makes Norway one of the most beautiful countries in the world. But after you’ve gotten your fill of fjords and glaciers, take the time to visit one of Norway’s numerous small towns or charming cities that are just as picture-perfect as could be. reine village norway, trondheim, alesund, bergen, reine, beautiful places norway, best places norway, best places world, beautiful place in the word, travel, traveler, travel guide, traveler guide, Here are four of our favorites: Trondheim At over 1,000 years old, Trondheim was Norway’s first capital, serving as a central trading point during the Viking Ages and later as a religious hub during the Middle Ages. The city’s rich history and culture means that there is plenty to see and discover from throughout the centuries. But perhaps what makes Trondheim even more captivating is its young and lively atmosphere, trendy cafes and restaurants, and plenty of pedestrian and bike-friendly roads. There’s even the world’ first—and only—bike lift up Trondheim’s steepest hill. Alesund The unique Art Noueveau architecture is reason enough to visit Alesund. Turrets, spires and beautiful ornamentations give the town a distinctive, fairytale-like character. We recommend a visit to the Art Noueveau Center to get detailed information about the unique style of the town. To get a better view of the city as a whole, hike up the 418 steps to the top of Akslahill. The splendid Kniven viewpoint looks over Alesund as well as the surrounding mountains and islands. From the pedestrian shopping street of Kongensgata, it’s a 15-minute climb to the top of the hill. Grab a drink at the Fjellstua Kafe as a reward while you take in the view. Bergen It’s no secret that Bergen is one of Norway’s most beautiful cities. This is a popular spot on the tourist trail, especially for those travelers who are doing the Norway in a Nutshell tour or arriving to the country via Oslo. But though touristy, Bergen is also undeniably beautiful. Surrounded by seven hills and seven fjords, the best reason to visit Bergen is for its convenient location. From the city you’ll have easy access to some of Norway’s most beautiful fjords, including the Hardangerfjord and the Sogneefjord (the third largest fjord in the world). Reine One of the world’s most idyllic island destinations is nowhere near the tropics, but rather 100 miles north of the Arctic Circle: The Lofoten Islands. The islands have been called “The Soul of Northern Norway,” and it only takes a few moments to see why. Norway is one of my favorite countries in the world because of its spectacular landscapes — here’s why you should travel Norway. From stunning fjords to massive glaciers and mountains, Norway is packed to the brim with gorgeous, untouched nature waiting to be explored. Thanks to its extreme northern location, it is one of the last remaining wildernesses in Europe. For many, this rugged country remains a mystery – where the midnight sun shines endlessly in summer and the stunning Aurora Borealis dances in the sky during the long, polar winter nights. Besides being one of the coolest country to visit in Europe, it also has some of the best winter adventure activitieson offer. Here’s a look at what you can do and explore in this beautiful winter wonderland: Explore the Capital Norway’s capital city of Oslo is located on a fjord, with a beautiful natural setting. As compared to many other European capital cities, it’s relatively small and quaint but there’s so much to see and do that you’ll need at least a couple of days to make the most of it. Oslo has a range of museums and galleries, interesting architecture such as the Opera House and, in the festive season, the Christmas markets. Take the Flåm Railway Train travel is the best way to see Norway, especially with spectacular routes that journey through high-altitude mountains and valleys. Some of the most famous train journeys include the Arctic Circle Express, Bergen Railway and Flåm Railway (you can also choose to combine the two latter routes with Norway in a Nutshell daytrip). For us, Flåm Railway is particularly amazing, providing an old-world railway experience and impressive sights. On board an old-style vintage train, you’ll snake through deep ravines and frozen waterfalls, clinging tightly to the steep mountain sides. Indeed, this railway line is a masterpiece of Norwegian engineering and a must for any rail enthusiast. Catch the Northern Lights Visit the town of Tromsø and you can glimpse the famous Northern Lights, when the sky comes alive with a display of flickering purple and green lights created by solar flares drawn to the magnetic circle of the North Pole. There’s no guarantee that you’ll witness them firsthand, but visiting popular viewing spots during the peak visibility period between December and February increases the odds in your favor.

Norway (/ˈnɔːrweɪ/ (About this sound listen) NAWR-way; Norwegian: About this sound Norge (Bokmål) or About this sound Noreg (Nynorsk); Northern Sami: Norga),[10] officially the Kingdom of Norway, is a sovereign state and unitary monarchy whose territory comprises the western portion of the Scandinavian Peninsula plus the remote island of Jan Mayen and the archipelago of Svalbard.[note 1] The Antarctic Peter I Island and the sub-Antarctic Bouvet Island are dependent territories and thus not considered part of the Kingdom. Norway also lays claim to a section of Antarctica known as Queen Maud Land. Until 1814, the kingdom included the Faroe Islands, Greenland, and Iceland. It also included Bohuslän until 1658, Jämtland and Härjedalen until 1645, Shetland and Orkney until 1468, and the Hebrides and Isle of Man until 1266. Norway has a total area of 385,252 square kilometres (148,747 sq mi) and a population of 5,258,317 (as of January 2017).[12] The country shares a long eastern border with Sweden (1,619 km or 1,006 mi long). Norway is bordered by Finland and Russia to the north-east, and the Skagerrak strait to the south, with Denmark on the other side. Norway has an extensive coastline, facing the North Atlantic Ocean and the Barents Sea. King Harald V of the Dano-German House of Glücksburg is the current King of Norway. Erna Solberg became Prime Minister in 2013, replacing Jens Stoltenberg. A constitutional monarchy, Norway divides state power between the Parliament, the Cabinet and the Supreme Court, as determined by the 1814 Constitution. The kingdom was established as a merger of a large number of petty kingdoms. By the traditional count from the year 872, the kingdom has existed continuously for 1,145 years, and the list of Norwegian monarchs includes over sixty kings and earls. Norway has both administrative and political subdivisions on two levels: counties and municipalities. The Sámi people have a certain amount of self-determination and influence over traditional territories through the Sámi Parliament and the Finnmark Act. Norway maintains close ties with both the European Union and the United States. Norway is a founding member of the United Nations, NATO, the European Free Trade Association, the Council of Europe, the Antarctic Treaty, and the Nordic Council; a member of the European Economic Area, the WTO, and the OECD; and a part of the Schengen Area. The country maintains a combination of market economy and a Nordic welfare model with universal health care and a comprehensive social security system. Norway has extensive reserves of petroleum, natural gas, minerals, lumber, seafood, fresh water, and hydropower. The petroleum industry accounts for around a quarter of the country's gross domestic product (GDP).[13] On a per-capita basis, Norway is the world's largest producer of oil and natural gas outside the Middle East.[14][15] The country has the fourth-highest per capita income in the world on the World Bank and IMF lists.[16] On the CIA's GDP (PPP) per capita list (2015 estimate) which includes autonomous territories and regions, Norway ranks as number eleven.[17] It has the world's largest sovereign wealth fund, with a value of USD 1 trillion.[18] Norway has had the highest Human Development Index ranking in the world since 2009, a position also held previously between 2001 and 2006.[19] It also has the highest inequality-adjusted ranking.[20][21][22] Norway ranks first on the World Happiness Report,[23] the OECD Better Life Index, the Index of Public Integrity, and the Democracy Index.[24] All credit for contents used in this video goes to the right owner.

Welcome to the View from Above! A series that takes you on a Journey to some of the most beautiful places on earth! Few places on the globe can take bleak and desolate elements like those of winter, ice and snow, and turn them into beautiful landscapes of white mountain ranges and icy, green fjords. Norway is a truly beautiful country that yearns to be explored and is richly riddled with stunning wintery panoramas. Begin in Oslo, Norway’s modern capital, before exploring the hauntingly beautiful countryside; the powdery-white slopes of Hemsedal give way to the pristine fjords like that of Hellesylt. View From Above uses their cutting edge DJI unmanned aerial camera drones, to capture Norway’s iconic cities, towns and natural vistas. Norway is most well-known historically as being the home of the Vikings. As Germanic tribes migrated north into Scandinavia during the early Roman reign they settled in modern-day Norway where their language and culture evolved. A clan-based society of warriors was formed, bent on expansion, who traversed the northern seas to pillage coastal villages all across Europe and the British Isles. Norway then begun its journey into feudalism and a lineage of kings dominated Norwegian history until 1905 when Norway became an independent nation, splitting from the Norwegian-Swedish conglomerate. Norway’s people, although affected by the widespread chaos of World War II, have largely retained their cultural and historical identity while embracing modernism. The visitor to Norway will often arrive in the Norwegian capital of Oslo. Sitting well within the depths of the Oslo Fjord, Oslo is a world-class city that has deep ties to its roots. Just taking a stroll through Frogner Park will show you how enchanted Norway is with traditional philosophies, while museums like the Viking Ship Museum, Munch Museum and the Holmenkollenbakken Ski Slope Museum are all acknowledgements of Norway’s past. http://www.visitoslo.com/ Norway is well known for its excellent skiing facilities. Areas in Norway like Hemsedal are recognised by their ski resorts that are built atop the fluffy snow-covered mountains of central Norway. Sunnmoresalpane is also a perfect location for skiing. Although less busy than the other resorts, the mountain has wonderfully steep descents that will excite even the most experienced skier. http://www.visitnorway.com/en/what-to... Islands, like those in the Lofoten archipelago, are largely uninhabited for the most part, and have some of the most beautiful and untouched landscapes in the world. The little towns like Giske that do occupy some corners of the islands are dependent on the seas for survival. The dependence of some of Norway’s oldest communities on nature is immediately recognisable. Towns like Aheim and Namsos would have relied solely on the fjords for trade and fishing. Smaller villages like Oppstryn and Maura depend on the lakes and rivers of Norway’s interior for their livelihoods. For visitors, Norway is primarily about nature, but what is easily noticable is how well its people have married with the land on which they live. When camping around the beautiful lake at Strynsvatn, visitors can marvel at farmhouses that almost look as though they are being swallowed up by the earth. Soil embankments scale the walls and grass grows on the roofs of small log cabins around the farms in Hellesylt fjord valley. Winding, desolate highways snake their way up the mountains of Hoddevik, below which surfers take to the crashing, icy-cold waves of the northern seas. Wherever the visitor looks they are bombarded with some of the most amazing, natural vistas. But what seems more intriguing is the way in which Norwegians have adopted the most harmonious relationship with the land and sea. View From Above captures this magic in ways never seen before. View from Above could not have made these astonishing videos without the help of the DJI unmanned recreational drones. Witness these marvellous feats of modern technology on the website: http://www.dji.com/ Can we please have standing ovations for the gallant little drone, the DJI Phantom 3: http://www.dji.com/product/phantom-3 And a courteous bow to the valiant and impressive DJI Inspire UAV: http://www.dji.com/product/inspire-1 This amazing video was shot and edited by: Kai Jonny Venoy http://aerialnorway.com Be sure to check out the other amazing destinations in the View from Above series such as: Panama Sydney Seattle Dubai Rio Sri Lanka New Zealand Poland Japan Germany Netherlands Seychelles Italy Greece Vietnam Ireland Maldives

Wacky Universe has gathered a list of the top 10 safest countries on earth. Which country would you live in? 7 - Switzerland – Located in Central Europe, Switzerland is well known for the beautiful and majestic Alps, however, most of its 8 million inhabitants live in the plains below. The country has a long history of promoting peace worldwide (it is the home of the Red Cross) and the Swiss are also known for their staunch commitment to remain neutral in times of conflict, like during World War II. In fact, the last time Switzerland was engaged in armed combat was in 1815! Switzerland has an elite banking industry and is one of the wealthiest countries in the world. It is often found at the top of the list of places with the highest quality of life in the world. It also ranks highly in several other categories, such as human development, economic competitiveness, and civil liberties. All of these qualities create a safe and welcoming environment for tourists and natives alike. Canada 6 – Canada - Canada is located in North America, and it is the second largest country in the world by total land mass. But despite its size, the Mounties do a good job of keeping everyone safe. They promote a “just society” and emphasize equality and inclusiveness for all its citizens. Multiculturalism also plays a big part in defining the country’s cultural mosaic. Canada has the 10th highest per capita income and claims the 9th spot on the Human Development index. It ranks 1st in education, economic freedom, quality of life, civil liberties and government transparency. 5. Austria – Home to music and Mozart, Austria is ranked pretty high on the list of safe countries. It’s known for its low crime rate and its peace among its neighbors. Austria has a low population, however tourism is rampant and makes up much of its economy. Its largest city is Vienna, which makes up 1.8 million of the country’s 8.6 million total population. The country is extremely clean and well maintained and its landscapes and views are breathtaking. 4 - Sweden - Sweden is located in Northern European and has a population of close to 10 million people. Despite its Viking ancestors, present-day Sweden is peaceful and calm. Its capital city of Stockholm is spread across 14 islands. Sweden is a constitutional monarchy with an extensive social welfare system that provides education and universal healthcare for its citizens. It ranks highly in quality of life, civil liberties, equality, prosperity, healthcare, education, and human development and has a very low crime rate. 3 – Finland - Finland is a Scandinavian country in Northern Europe and actual shares a border with Russia. It is a republic and part of the European Union, with a population of 5.5 million people, and is actually the lowest populated country in the EU. Finland was one of the last countries to become industrialized, but when they did they developed an advanced economy which resulted in one of the highest incomes per capita in the world. This prosperity also enabled them to create a robust welfare system. Finland was also recently ranked the most stable country in the world, which has led to peace, stability, and safety. 2 – Norway – Norway is located in Northern Europe and is a Scandinavian country. It is a constitutional monarchy, with a population of just over 5 million people. A founding member of both NATO and the United Nations, it is not however part of the European Union. Thanks to an abundance of natural resources, like gas and oil, Norwegians have the 4th highest income per capita in the world. They also have a very comprehensive social security and welfare system which provides free healthcare and education to all of its citizens. Since 2001, Norway has also had the highest Human Development Index rating in the world 11 times. 1- Iceland - Iceland is a Nordic island country located in the North Atlantic, and with a population of almost 350,000 people, it is one of the most sparsely populated countries in the world. Iceland has a dualistic nature with geothermal hot springs covered by large glaciers. However, they have managed to harness this power and as a result the country is nearly completely powered by renewable energy. Iceland’s low taxes and market based economy have made it one of the wealthiest and most advanced countries in the world. It is highly ranked in equality, and its economic, social, and political stability create a safe haven for Icelanders to prosper.  Subscribe for weekly wacky videos and learn interesting facts about the world with awesome top 10 lists and other amazing videos.
