Capping off an intense week of multiple recording sessions inside the historic Tabernacle in Salt Lake City, Andrea Bocelli and David Foster joined the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square for a few hours this month (see video below). "The Lord's Prayer," featuring Andrea Bocelli, the choir and orchestra, and David Foster at the organ will be part of a PBS Christmas special produced by WNET. After several takes, David Foster then switched to the piano to accompany both the choir and orchestra for "The Prayer," a song he personally composed, which will be featured in an upcoming choir and orchestra recording. Between takes of the recording process, Bocelli sat down at the Tabernacle's famous pipe organ and gave an impromptu recital of "Ave Maria" while accompanying himself. "It was beautiful; his sweet voice carried throughout the Tabernacle," said choir member Robb Cundick, who also said the unplanned performance was his favorite part of the afternoon. After the conclusion of "The Lord's Prayer," Bocelli said he had enjoyed his day in Salt Lake as well as singing in the Tabernacle. He complimented the Tabernacle acoustics and said that the entire experience was very moving. "For me it was a huge experience," Bocelli said. "The quality of the choir is very high. ... The orchestra also (is) very inspiring."

For the story behind this song: https://youtu.be/JD9CkkjACjE The Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square perform Mack Wilberg's arrangement of "It Is Well with My Soul," by Philip P. Bliss. Life can be so unpredictable—joys and sorrows, beautiful blessings and distressing difficulties, can come unexpectedly. Our life’s dreams and plans can change in an instant. We all know this to be true. So how can we find peace amid such turbulence? Horatio Spafford knew something about life’s unexpected challenges. He was a successful attorney and real estate investor who lost a fortune in the great Chicago fire of 1871. Around the same time, his beloved four-year-old son died of scarlet fever. Thinking a vacation would do his family some good, he sent his wife and four daughters on a ship to England, planning to join them after he finished some pressing business at home. However, while crossing the Atlantic Ocean, the ship was involved in a terrible collision and sunk. More than 200 people lost their lives, including all four of Horatio Spafford’s precious daughters. His wife, Anna, survived the tragedy. Upon arriving in England, she sent a telegram to her husband that began: “Saved alone. What shall I do?” Horatio immediately set sail for England. At one point during his voyage, the captain of the ship, aware of the tragedy that had struck the Spafford family, summoned Horatio to tell him that they were now passing over the spot where the shipwreck had occurred. As Horatio thought about his daughters, words of comfort and hope filled his heart and mind. He wrote them down, and they have since become a well-beloved hymn: When peace like a river, attendeth my way, When sorrows like sea billows roll— Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to know It is well, it is well with my soul. Perhaps we cannot always say that everything is well in all aspects of our lives. There will always be storms to face, and sometimes there will be tragedies. But with faith in a loving God and with trust in His divine help, we can confidently say, “It is well, it is well with my soul.” Episode 4580. Aired June 25, 2017.

Antífona 2. Apreciar o dia 3. A Ele cantemos louvor 4. Sê minha visão 5. Dias maravilhosos estão por vir 6. “Quem vai comprar?” de Oliver! 7. Criamos nosso futuro, dia a dia.

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir performed during the 58th Presidential Inauguration in the nation’s capital Friday. The choir was accompanied by “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band as they sang during the swearing-in ceremony of President Donald J. Trump and Vice President Michael R. Pence. “We are incredibly happy to have the Mormon Tabernacle Choir back again at the inauguration. It is a part of America's history, and the music is incredibly beautiful,” said Jason Goodman of the Presidential Inauguration Committee. Music director Mack Wilberg conducted the choir in the outdoor performance of his arrangement of “America the Beautiful” just before noon on the West Terrace of the Capitol. “The lyrics were written by Katharine Bates in 1893, during a visit to Pike's Peak in Colorado,” said Wilberg. “It's one of our great songs because it talks about our great heritage and our continued potential as a great nation.” Choir members were dressed in crème-colored coats with matching turtleneck sweaters and red plaid scarves as they sang outdoors under cloudy skies. In all, 215 singers of the 360-member choir, goodwill ambassadors of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, traveled from Salt Lake City to the nation’s capital for the historic event after accepting an invitation from the U.S. Presidential Inauguration Committee.
